UPDATE ON CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES ON THE ISLAND
The Sifnos Medical Centre has confirmed the existence of active COVID-19 cases on the island.
We would like to take this opportunity to repeat and underline our shared, critical duty to adhere strictly to all personal protection measures, wear masks, and limit our movements to those absolutely necessary, in accordance with National Health and Civil Protection guidelines.
The Municipality of Sifnos, the Medical Centre, and the Professional, Commercial and Catering Associations of Sifnos, who have been monitoring the situation closely from the start and taking coordinated action as necessary, extend a joint appeal to all residents for increased care, caution, and composure at this time.
A Mobile Testing Unit from the National Health Organisation will be visiting the island over the next few days, in order to perform rapid antibody tests on the local population. Details will be announced. (This action was scheduled before the latest confirmation of local cases.)
We must ALL exercise personal and collective responsibility and comply with all measures in force, in order to contain the spread of the virus.
